The Drexel Freethought Society’s mission is to establish and support a secular community at Drexel University for atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers. The DFS is dedicated to encouraging freethought and defending science, logic, and reason.

As outlined in the DFS Constitution, our mission is as follows:

(1)   Defending reason and science at Drexel University.

(2)   Providing a community for atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers.

(3)   Offering a secular voice in academic discussions around the University.

(4)   Initiating debates and discussions on religion, science, and philosophy.

(5)   Encouraging the open and free exchange of ideas.

(6)   Organizing events centered on the interests of the secular community.

History of the DFS

The Drexel Freethought Society was founded in 2009. The Drexel Freethought Society’s Constitution was written on April 10, 2009. After a summer preparing for the next school year and filling out paperwork the DFS became an officially recognized student organization on October 23, 2009.
